From Clay to Code: Why I Started Designing Websites for Creative Brands
For the past several years, I’ve spent most of my days in the studio—hands in clay, crafting ceramic pendant lights for thoughtful interiors. It’s quiet work. Messy, grounding, and deeply intentional. It’s also where I first realized just how much I love design—not just the physical kind, but the full sensory experience of it.
Over time, that passion expanded beyond handmade lighting. I found myself drawn to the spaces where products live. The way light hits a room. The way color and texture influence how we feel. And eventually, the way brands show up online.
That’s when Made by Day began to take shape.
There’s something deeply personal about design—whether you’re creating a home, curating a guest experience, or building a brand. I’ve always believed that the most compelling spaces (and websites) are the ones that feel warm, curated, and true to their story.
My background in art, events, and interiors helped me recognize that many creative entrepreneurs—especially those in lifestyle, hospitality, and design—are doing incredible work but struggling to reflect that work online.
I wanted to help change that.
What Ceramics Taught Me About Websites
Working with clay taught me how to be intentional with every detail. That mindset naturally carried over into web design. A custom website, like a handmade piece, should feel like an extension of you: beautiful, functional, and thoughtfully crafted.
Today, I design Squarespace websites for interior designers, artists, wedding venues, Airbnb hosts, and other creatives who want their online presence to feel just as refined and welcoming as the spaces and experiences they offer.
And That’s How Made by Day Was Born
Made by Day is my design studio where I bring all of this full circle—helping interior designers, Airbnb hosts, wedding venues, and creative entrepreneurs build stunning Squarespace websites that truly reflect their work.
If you’re building something beautiful, I’d love to help you share it with the world.
And if you’re just here to watch the journey unfold—I hope you’ll follow along.
